Since 1994 the Sparke Helmore NBN Triathlon has been Newcastle’s premier participant sporting event. Now celebrating its 20^th Anniversary, this great community sporting event has raised in excess of $420,000 contributing much-needed funds to the Newcastle based Hunter Medical Research Institute. The main triathlon event regularly attracts over 3000 novice and serious competitors, with an additional 5,000 spectators and volunteers joining in a celebration of sport and healthy lifestyles.

In 2013 the event will expand to a 3 day festival which incorporates the NewFM Foreshore5 Twilight Fun Run on Friday, Eyeline TriJunior and Westfield Kotara Women's Triathlon on Saturday morning, plus a redesigned main triathlon and event compound on Sunday. We expect that 3500 competitors will compete across the weekend. Corporate and team marquees, a large health and fitness expo and one of Australia’s most picturesque working harbours create an atmosphere which leave a lasting memory for everyone involved.

This event has a proud history of being one of the Hunter Region's largest and most successful health and fitness days and will be staged on the 15-17th March 2013.
